Stem Cell Therapy

Improving Mobility

At the Conway Road Veterinary Surgery we routinely carry out stem cell therapy to help pets suffering from mobility problems, for example; arthritis.

Stem cell therapy is a state of the art treatment which entails a small operation where we remove a sample of fat from your pet to generate stem cells. The stem cells are harvested and incubated by our partners at the Veterinary Tissue Bank – http://vtbank.org/ . This process typically takes 10 to 14 days, once we have the stem cells back at the surgery we inject them into your pet’s affected joints.

The stem cells encourage the regeneration of cartilage, joint fluid and other joint structures to help create a new joint and reduce and prevent the need for continuous pain relief and anti-inflammatory medication. In summary stem cell therapy repairs the joint.
