Equipment
Endoscope
On site we have an endoscope which is an ideal piece of equipment for various uses. It can be used in the trachea for diagnosing respiratory disorders. It can also be used in the digestive tract for gastrointestinal problems.
It is of great use to have multiple forms of imaging equipment to use in diagnostics such as the endoscope and ultrasound machine.

Multiparameter
The multiparameter is our newest piece of equipment and it helps us monitor patients under anaesthesia. It monitors a variety of different parameters including blood pressure and temperature.
It is a great piece of monitoring equipment to use during operations alongside the watchful eye of the nurses.
Thermocautery
A thermocautery unit is a tool that is used to cauterise tissue by the use of electric current to cut and coagulate the affected area.
It is used for surgically dissecting areas where it can create a perfect incision whilst also helping the blood to coagulate and the tissue fibres to bond.

ECG
The electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a diagnostic tool that is routinely used to assess the electrical and muscular functions of the heart. It is a relatively simple test to perform and can be carried out with the animal either conscious or under anaesthesia. This piece of diagnostic equipment can be used for detecting abnormalities in heart rate and electrical rhythms.
Ultrasound
An ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure used to evaluate the internal organs in dogs, cats and other animals. An abdominal ultrasound is often done if an X-ray, blood tests or physical examination indicate a problem with an abdominal organ such as the liver, spleen, or pancreas.
The ultrasound is used to examine what is going on inside the internal cavities of an animal and to see whether or not there has been any change in the shape, size, tissue density etc. of internal organs. Some common diagnoses from an ultrasound include bladder stones, urinary crystal and tumours.

Dental Machine
At the surgery we are able to provide dental treatment for your pets using our up to date dental machine.
The machine is perfect for use in routine scale and polish procedures as well as tricky tooth extractions.
As well as dental procedures the machine can be used for other purposes such as trimming tortoise beaks.
Digital Scrub Sink
Located in the prep-room and conveniently placed outside the main orthopaedic operating theatre we have a digital scrub sink.
This sink is ideally located for when the vet or veterinary nurses need to scrub up for operations.
